Samantha VanGiesen, Athletic Therapist & Kinesiologist

Athletic Therapist, Kinesiologist

Samantha graduated from Camosun College with a Bachelor on Athletic and Exercise Therapy. Her draw to Athletic Therapy was a combination of her desire to help others, her interest in human anatomy, and her love of all things movement. Samantha studied Kinesiology and her background in that training supports her strong belief in the phrase “movement is medicine". Samantha has seen first hand that Athletic Therapy and improving movement can produce physical, emotional, and physiological benefits when applied with a full body holistic approach.

She loves working with motivated patients at any age and fitness level. Whether they are looking to prevent injury, rehab an injury, or are looking for exercise guidance. Combining postural and gait assessments with manual therapy, exercise, and mobility guidance, Samantha creates an exercise and rehab plan unique to her patients’ needs. She loves helping patients achieve their personal fitness goals, whether it’s walking to the mailbox, running their first 5K, or getting a new personal best on a half-marathon.

Samantha enjoys spending her free time outdoors hiking and exploring the natural beauty of Vancouver Island. She is also involved in the sport of jump rope, having competed at a provincial, national, and international level.
