Alana has a keen interest in treating pain, musculoskeletal dysfunction, and injury. Her approach to treatments are a combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Orthopedic Acupuncture. She combines her background in anatomy and biomechanics with her knowledge and understanding of all systems of the body including; digestion, organ function and the endocrine system. She treats with a variety of techniques including: Acupuncture, Electro-Acupuncture, Cupping Therapy, Tui Na, Gua Sha, and Moxibustion. Alana takes a holistic approach to every treatment.>
Alana graduated from the Diploma of Acupuncture program at Pacific Rim College in Victoria, B.C. as the Class Valedictorian. While attending University of Alberta, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree, she was team captain of the varsity swim team. During her time as a high-performance athlete, she relied on Acupuncture to maintain her body’s fitness level and enhance performance while representing Canada internationally. >
Alana continues to evolve her practice. As a teaching assistant at Pacific Rim College, she assists students in advanced orthopedic needling techniques and assessments. She has completed certification for integrative myofascial acupuncture and biomechanical analysis.>
When she’s not in the clinic, she’s off hiking in the woods with her partner and her rescue dog, Chips.>
