Jump-start your practice towards a functional focus where education and client self-awareness play a key role in client care outcomes. Certificate for CEU’s for Ontario and BC will be issued by ViVi Therapy.
Treating conditions of the pelvic girdle, lumbar spine and lower extremities such as disc degeneration, hip, knee, ankle ROM, sacroiliac dysfunction, weight bearing problems, symptoms of overuse, arthritis, compression and balance issues will be addressed in this functional focused workshop. This style of learning and practicing is based on the many fundamental principles of the Feldenkrais Method. Students will build on knowledge and skeletal handling skills developed in the Intro/ level 1 of Feldenkrais Fundamentals for Functionally Focused Treatments.
This professional CMTBC accredited workshop (14 practical credits for cycle 12) will give participants the first hand experience of moving with maximum skeletal recruitment minimizing the muscular effort of daily and performance activities related to pelvis, lumbar spine and the lower extremities. Learning to improve hip mobility and generating motion from the proximal joints of the body for power and gait will be a main theme taught and applied to treating the common conditions found in our daily practices.
Participants will learn new tools for treating the lower back and lower body with a functional focus. Please join instructor and course developer Roxanne Derkson, RMT, GCFP for this very experiential and hands on educational weekend of discovering what the Feldenkrais Method is really about.
Please note Feldenkrais and Feldenkrais Method are protected service marks and these workshops are not training programs that allow RMT’s to call themselves practitioners of the Feldenkrais Method. Recognizing the demand and curiosity of RMT’s for greater understanding of how the body works from a brain neuroplasticity and skeletal movement point of view Roxanne has been teaching this workshop for the last three years. The groups are very small with a high level of one-on-one attention. Register early to insure a space.
Level 2 takes place from 8:30 AM-5:30 PM on Saturday and 9 AM-4 PM on Sunday, with a one-hour lunch break each day.
